My father’s life is one where its greatest politicians were assassinated, were corrupt, sometimes simultaneously and sometimes not. Over the phone, we discuss Duterte and conflicting sovereignty claims in the South China Sea. He argues against American meddling, says “internal matters” multiple times. I think
