Welcome!

Welcome to the new Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art website. You’ll find a lot more has changed than our design.

We’ve turned Columbiajournal.org into a literary destination for both readers and writers. For the first time, full stories from our expansive back catalog will be available in a rich, downloadable PDF format — easy on the eyes and e-readers. We’ll also be publishing content exclusively for the web, starting with our exclusive interview with award-winning author Adam Hochschild.

For writers, it’s never been easier to submit for publication and to join our annual contest. In fact, we’re happy to announce that the 2011 contest judges will be Robert Olen Butler in fiction, Jo Ann Beard in nonfiction, and Joanna Klink for poetry. Ms. Klink is also featured in our current edition. Read her poetry series, Safekeeping, and more from Issue 48.

Beyond these regular features, we’ve launched a blog to keep you up to date on our author events, contest information, and other literary news.

Thanks again for stopping by. Take a few minutes, click around. And come back soon.
